After nearly 30 years at the School of Veterinary Medicine at LSU I have retired from the school in order to be available to you in a new venture. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to serve the veterinarians of Louisiana in a private practice specialty capacity. To fulfill this vision, I will now offer a dermatology specialty service in Shreveport, Louisiana. The goal will be to provide the same quality of dermatology care that I have provided for you in the past, but in a location closer to your practice with a more streamlined experience for your client.
I am a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and Professor Emeritus at LSU, have published over 60 book chapters and scientific articles, 200 proceeding articles and presented over 500 hours of continuing education at over 150 professional veterinary meetings. I would like to continue to offer you and your clients the benefit of my experience and expertise.
The Dermatology and Ear service at University Veterinary Hospital accepts patients by referral only from veterinarians in Louisiana and neighboring states. The goal of the service is to give you and your clients the most personal service possible through the diagnosis and management of ear and skin disease in the dog and cat. These skin issues include allergic skin disease, bacterial and fungal skin disease, immune mediated skin disease, hormonal skin disease, claw and claw bed disease, interdigital diseases, cutaneous manifestations of internal disease, and otitis externa and media including consultation on medical vs. surgical options for severe ear diseases. Services available include intradermal skin testing, in vitro blood allergy testing, allergy specific immunotherapy (rush immunotherapy, injection immunotherapy, sublingual immunotherapy), otoscopy, skin biopsy and dermatopathology consultation.
